The Commanders Vs Ravens Game

Yes, I know it's been a while. There is no excuse for me not posting a sports blog for the eight people who read this. I’ve been busy with college!

This week it's the Battle of the Beltway… Commanders vs Ravens. Every time I get on Twitter or Instagram I see a new hype video for this game.

Before I get into my own opinion, let's hear from Miles Hayford, a die-hard Ravens fan: "It's going to be a tight game that will come down to how well the Commanders contain Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson. It will also be crucial for Zach Orr's defense to play some of the best they've had all season. The defense they presented against the Bengals last week won't prove to be enough against Jayden Daniel's legs. Nnmadi Madubuike and the pass rush will need to exert pressure all day to force Daniels to throw against an elite Ravens secondary chock full of talent like Kyle Hamilton, Brandon Stephens, Marcus Williams, and the promising Nate Wiggins. If the Ravens can force Daniels to throw a win could come easy. Score: 31-20 Ravens”

Now that we’ve heard from a Ravens fan, I think that the keys for the Commanders to win are containing Derrick Henry, capitalizing on every scoring opportunity, extending drives, and winning third and fourth down.  The main one there is containing Henry. The featured back is the league's leading rusher and he should get the ball at least 15 times against this Commanders defense. Jayden Daniels will have to continue to play at the level he’s been playing at for the Commanders to have a shot at a win. He already passed his first test of the year when he won on Monday night football against the Bengals, now we’ll see if he can pass the second. This game means a lot more for the Commanders than it does for the Ravens. If the Commanders win this game it will prove that they are legit. I predict that the Commanders win 28-24! Much like Miles, I am a homer with my pick.

Here's hoping they can pull it off!

(part three of the “what if” is still in draft form, but that will be out before the end of the year. I’m just trying not to rush it.)
