New Year's Resolutions For Sports Fans

I hope everyone is having a happy holiday season. With midnight getting closer it's time that we as sports fans make New Year’s resolutions. Here are three of them you can make.

1: Don’t blame the officials for a loss

This first resolution is something that almost all of us do. Well I don’t but thats because I am a official and see how hard of a job it is. But still I am sure we have top try to not blame the official after your favorite team loses. They are human and will make mistakes. Plus as my Dad always says “don’t be in a position where you need the official to bail you out.”

2: Be nice to opposing players and fans

Even though they may be our opponents, they are still human. There is no need to beat up anyone because they are a fan of a rival team. There is also no need to create nasty posters about players because they play for a rival team. There is a fine line between the posters you see on college gameday which are unfriendly but funny and posters that talk about a player's family in a negative way. So please remember to follow this because at the end of the day, we are all here to watch the sports we love.

3: Don’t overreact after every loss

I still need to get better at this. One loss is not the end of the world. One loss does not mean everyone has to be fired and traded. One loss doesn’t mean that your team is the worst team ever. Please try and take into consideration that it may not have been your team's day instead of going onto X(Twitter) and tweeting that your team or players are the worst thing that you've ever seen.

That's it for the final blog post of 2023 see you in 2024!
